Every week a parent tells me 2 things in the same conversation. They don't want their child left unprepared for AI, and they worry about what growing up with it will do to their child's development. I hear you. I'm a parent too, and that is exactly why this club exists.
Here, children learn what AI really is: a machine that does not think, know, understand or feel, and is never a friend. They learn how it manipulates, and how to catch it doing so. How to tell AI-made from real. How to build with it, when it is genuinely useful, and how it can sharpen their work and their thinking. And, most importantly, when to put it away and use their own brain, because that is the muscle these years exist to build.
MEET THE MACHINE
Children learn what AI actually is, without pretending it is a person, and train a machine themselves before taking it apart.
QUESTION THE MACHINE
They check an answer against a second source, and catch a chatbot flattering them rather than telling them the truth.
BUILD THE MACHINE
They make something with AI help, label honestly which ideas were theirs, and decide which parts of a task they should do themselves.
- The Spotter
- The Trainer
- The Fact Checker
- The Flattery Breaker
- The Decider
- The Creator
- The Judge
What the research says
The question is not whether AI reaches your child. It already has, or it will shortly, through a friend's phone if not your own. The question is whether anyone teaches them to judge it first.
The programme teaches to the OECD AI literacy framework behind the PISA 2029 assessment, and is consistent with DfE guidance on generative AI in education.
Where your child learns to judge the machine.

NO SCREENS FOR THE CHILDREN
No child opens an account, logs into anything, or types into a chatbot. Anything conversational runs on the coach's screen at the front of the room, rehearsed by the coach that same morning.

IT PREDICTS, IT DOES NOT THINK
Nobody in our room says the machine thinks, knows, understands or feels. It predicts. The children hold everyone to that, including the coach.

NOTHING TRAINED ON YOUR CHILD
No child's name, face, voice, photograph or word ever enters any AI system. When they train their own machines, they train them on drawings and objects, never on themselves.

SEVEN BADGES TO EARN
7 skills, each with a badge to earn: the Spotter, the Trainer, the Fact Checker, the Flattery Breaker, the Decider, the Creator and the Judge. The 7 stay the same all year. What it takes to earn them changes every term.

SEE WHAT THEY HAVE MADE
Every term ends with an evening where families come in and see what the children have made. Your child will show you what they have built and learned that term.

What parents say
My daughter was very nervous about speaking in front of others, even in a small group. Since joining the club, I've noticed such a lovely change in her. She is speaking more clearly, joining in more, and she seems much more comfortable sharing her ideas. It has been really nice to see her confidence grow in a gentle, natural way.
Young Founders House has been a great experience for Georgie. It introduced her to completely new concepts, and she loved learning how money works and how to turn investments into profits. A wonderful, unexpected bonus was seeing her teamwork and friendships grow. Georgie took part in two markets this term and made over £100 after costs, she was thrilled to see her hard work pay off.
A really lovely club that helps children build confidence, speak more clearly and believe in themselves a bit more each week.
I love how practical the Young Founders House club is. The children were not just sitting and being told about money or business. They were thinking, planning, making decisions and learning by doing. My child really enjoyed it, and I could see how proud she was of what she had created.
The children's market was brilliant. It gave the children a real chance to sell, speak to people, manage money and feel proud of themselves.
I highly recommend Young Founders Club. It's a fantastic opportunity for children to learn about business, develop creative ideas and gain practical skills! The program helps build confidence and turn ideas into reality.
Questions parents ask
Will my child be using ChatGPT?
No. Children never open an account, log into anything or type into a chatbot. Anything conversational runs on my screen only, at the front, where the whole class can question it. Ages 8 to 12.
So what do they actually do?
They train small machines on their own drawings and objects, break them on purpose to see why they fail, learn to spot fake images, catch a chatbot flattering them, and build the habit that outlasts every app: check before you trust.
Is it an hour of screen time?
Mostly the opposite. Most of the hour is cards, paper, games and argument. Screens appear briefly, for a purpose, then go away.
What about my child's data?
Nothing of your child, not their name, face, voice, photograph or words, ever enters any AI system, typed by anyone. When they train machines, they train them on drawings and objects, never on themselves.
When does it run?
Thursdays, 5:30 to 6:30pm in term time at Patch, 42 York Street, Twickenham.
What does my child come away with?
A personal record of everything they have made and tested over the term, and a way of talking about AI that will genuinely surprise you at dinner. They earn their progress step by step, and the term ends with an evening where families come in and see what they have built.
What ages is it for?
